Fostering is one of the best ways that you can help the rescue and the dogs.

We provide the resources, including veterinary care, dog food, and medications.

You provide a short-term transition home for a dog in need.

Must be willing to participate in one adoption event monthly to increase the adoptability of your foster dog.

Must be willing to transport the dog to the vet for medical care if needed.

If you are interested in opening up your home to help us save a life, please fill out the Foster Application below.

All current dogs must be up to date on shots/vaccines and monthly heartworm preventatives.

What's so great about fostering a dog?

Easy - the unbelievable dog love you get for your effort.

  • Fostering gives a dog a second chance at life by getting them out of a shelter, off of the streets, or out of a home where they are not wanted, and also saves another dog who may not have lived unless a place in a shelter became available for them.

  • Fostering a dog is a wonderful, life-affirming project for the entire family

  • Fostering a dog costs next to nothing.

  • Fostering a dog is fun, rewarding, and meaningful.

  • Fostering can be done anywhere - in a city or suburb, a house or apartment.

  • Fostering a dog can take place whenever you are ready.

  • Fostering a dog offers the company of canines to those unable to make a long-term commitment.

"I am alive because my foster made a small sacrifice, a small adjustment to their routine and welcomed me into their loving home.

I am alive because I had a foster home." - Dollie

What is involved in fostering?

  • PINC provides a crate, dog food, vaccines, halters, microchips, and any medical necessities required while under your care.

  • The length of the fostering experience can vary.

  • You can ask for a dog who fits your lifestyle and home environment – puppies, small dogs, big dogs, older dogs, different energy levels, shedding levels, and more.

  • It's fine if you already have a dog, as long as your dog and the foster dog are both healthy and well-behaved around other dogs.

How do I get started?

Step 1: Fill out the Foster Application online

Step 2: Have a phone call with the Foster Coordinator.

Step 3: Have a home visit conducted by a PINC Team Member.

Step 4: Meet us at a vet, or mutual location, or adoption event and take your PINC foster dog to your home.
