Dollie was pulled from a rural shelter in NC and has completed her role as a mommy. Now it is her turn to be rewarded with a beautiful home!
Dollie is perfect; sweet, walks well on a leash, house trained and looking for a forever family. Dollie loves to run and play with her foster fur siblings and also likes chasing toys.
Dollie is heartworm positive, but we have started her heartworm treatment regime. After completing her doxycycline, we have her scheduled for injections and would love to find an adopter with a quiet home where she could rest after her injections. She will be spayed after her heartworm treatments. Pawsitive Impact covers heartworm treatments and spay.
Rat Terrier Mix
Ginger is a sweet, loving rat terrier mix weighing in at 11.5 lbs. She just had her spay surgery and cherry eye surgery. Ginger is up to date on shots/vaccines and ready for her forever home. She will need a home with another dog sibling to play with and preferably a fenced-in backyard.
Tanner is a 1-year-old, 10lb, possibly Pomchi(Pomeranian-chihuahua mix), neutered male. He is good-natured, playful, spunky, alert, and affectionate. He is crate, leash, and house trained. He loves his walks, toys, and being a loving companion. Tanner loves the outside but will need supervision to avoid escaping. He is doing well with his "stay" and "come" commands, but could benefit from some basic training. This beautiful boy is going to make someone a wonderful addition to their family.
Oscar is a 3-year-old terrier mix weighing in at 13 lbs. This scruffy sweet little boy is house trained but not a fan of a crate. He enjoys walking on a leash and playing fetch. Oscar loves attention and being loved. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. Oscar is not a fan of children and is toy aggressive with his foster dog siblings. He is fine with other dogs unless a toy is involved. Oscar is a one-person dog and needs an experienced adopter to work with him on meeting new people.
Norman is a male, 4-year-old terrier mix. This boy was pulled from the shelter to avoid euthanasia. He is super sweet and loves playing with his foster dog siblings. Norman does need someone with patience that will continue to teach him basic manners such as "no jump," "sit," "stay," etc. Norman deserves a loving family to call his own. He is up to date on shots/vaccines, neutered, and micro-chipped.
We require a fenced-in backyard and another dog in Norman's forever home.
Pocket Pit Mix
Hogan is an adorable little pocket pittie still looking for his forever home. He loves other dogs, loves to run and play and very food motivated and eager to learn!
Hogan does have a little bit of a fearful side if cornered so we do not recommend him being in a home with young children.
Leela is a 9 lb Chihuahua mix estimated to be between 7 - 8 years old. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on shots/vaccines. Leela came to us from Char-Meck Animal Care & Control. She has had a hard life and is ready to have a family of her own to show her the love she deserves. Her left eye was removed due to medical necessity. Leela is house and crate trained. She would do best with a submissive dog or as an only dog. She will require someone that is patient as it will take her a bit to warm up and trust. This little girl loves to play with her toys, wear pretty dresses, and be in the arms of her human.
American Pit Bull Terrier
She's truly the perfect size for most homes. She's small enough that you can easily pick her up - 35 lbs. (and she doesn't mind being picked up when you need to do it), but has a "big dog" personality (not yappy or nervous at all). House-trained- crate-trained (but doesn't NEED to be in a crate - she's perfectly safe when left loose in the house)- peppy when she's outside, but calm inside the house- snuggly - loves to sit on your lap- playful - giver her a good toy and she's happy for a long time (heck, she's even happy to chase her tail if she's got no toys around)- adorable - her little tongue is too big for her mouth, so about an inch of the tip often hangs out; extremely cute- would love to get on the furniture, but doesn't mind when you say no (i.e., she listens to you)- food-driven, so she's good at training, but not so food-driven that she tries to get the food off your plate (see above she listens well)- only barks when she hears the doorbell or noises outside (in other words, not a nervous dog that barks at everything)- independent - she is not needy in the least; at the same time, she's loving and excited to see you/be with you when you come home Layla will do well with a house without children and will need a compatibility test with another dog. She gets along well with some and not so well with others
Surely you’ve seen Dottie’s beautiful face flash across this page a time or two. This gorgeous girl has been in rescue for far too long! Dottie is an American Bulldog Mix approximately 7 years old. She is deaf and will need a family that is experienced in dealing with a special needs dog. She is house & crate trained. Dottie is a great car rider and very sweet. She is currently fostered with other dogs but would she would probably be more at ease being the only dog in the family.
American Pit Bull Terrier
Shelby is believed to be a Labrador-Pittie mix, which is honestly a dream combination; the fun of a Labrador and the smushy cuddles of a pitty! Her webbed paws are hilariously big for her body, and she lives for a summer swim! Shelby is the type of dog that you’ll need an extra 5 minutes with. While we don’t know the details of her past, we do know that she had enough experiences with NC’s finest to distrust humans. Shelby might initially bark or do a little nervous jig, but this sweet girl emerges in just a few minutes and she is worth the wait! Shelby’s quote: “Forever is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning."
